OVERVIEW
Crafting Musical Excellence
Geoff Shell is an award-winning composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and performer based in San Marcos, California. A graduate of Berklee College of Music with Magna Cum Laude honors in Film Scoring, Geoff creates original music for film, television, documentaries, commercials, and live performance, bringing together cinematic storytelling with decades of professional experience across multiple musical disciplines.
Most recently, Geoff composed the original score for the feature film Sunset Strip Killers, blending orchestral, electronic, and contemporary textures to support the film's psychological intensity. His music has also appeared in feature films, short films, television, and licensed productions featured on TNT, MTV2, and E! Entertainment Television, with one project recognized as an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival.
As a performer, Geoff maintains an active schedule throughout Southern California. He is the keyboardist and vocalist for Pretending Chrissie, a premier tribute to the Pretenders and classic rock, bassist for All Fired Up, a tribute to Pat Benatar, and co-founder of Ghost Radio, an alternative rock band celebrating the music of the 1990s and 2000s. Geoff also performs with Just Too..., an acoustic duo featuring Wild Rose, where he provides keyboards, acoustic guitar, and vocals, and serves as pianist and accompanist for Congregation Beth Israel in San Diego.
Throughout his career, Geoff has performed with acclaimed artists and groups including Polarcode, the Chicago Afrobeat Project featuring Tony Allen, the Josh Nelson Project, and Handler. His creative work extends beyond traditional performance, including writing a full-length musical inspired by the iconic "Where's the Beef?" campaign, appearances on ABC's Windy City Live as a featured music expert, and composing and sound design for educational software and multimedia productions.
For more than fifteen years, Geoff also maintained a successful private teaching studio, mentoring students of all ages in piano, bass, guitar, music theory, composition, arranging, recording, and songwriting. This extensive teaching experience continues to inform his collaborative approach to composing, producing, and working with artists and filmmakers.
Whether composing a cinematic score, producing in the studio, or performing live on stage, Geoff brings technical excellence, versatility, and a lifelong passion for music to every project.
